I’m at work and feeling like today is as good a day as any to start a daily blog of my thoughts, feelings, bemusing, and bullshit.

This isn’t about telling other people how to live—I think there is far too much of that in the world already. Everyone knows what is in everyone else’s best interest. People who struggle to keep their own life together seem to have no shortage of advice for “everyone else” to follow. I’m no exception.

So why would anyone care what I’m doing and why I’m doing it? Because I’m trying to change my life and I want to share that journey with you. Maybe somewhere in all my mistakes and screw-ups, you find a bit of wisdom that might come in handy for you. Honestly, I don’t expect anyone other than friends and family to even read this—and even that will be only on occasion. I’m doing this for me. I’m doing this to see if I can. I’m doing this to see if the act of doing it is actually what changes me.

Too many people wait until they’ve “made it” to start behaving differently. What if the “made it” part requires the action FIRST!?

So this is me… writing for the sake of writing, sharing for the sake of sharing, and living for the sake of living.

There are rules I am going to hold myself to as I do this. They are as follows:

  1. Spend no more than ten minutes writing.
  2. Post every single day (preferably at the same time).
  3. Keep it under 500 words.
  4. Don’t edit yourself (too much).
  5. Be honest.

So this is my pledge to myself. I welcome you to join me… or not. Or even start a daily blog of your very own. If you do, let me know and maybe I’ll read it occasionally… or maybe I won’t. Because that’s not the point. The point is not to drum up readers, fans, or followers. The point is to do it for the sake of doing it—just to see if I can.
